SADISTIC CREATION

Sometimes I wonder
Whether the creator is a sadist
Or else, why did he create
Our many perceptions of suffering

When cut, the bleeding is painless.
Without the nerves to register pain,
And the mental perception associated,
It wouldn’t be a cause for suffering

When hungry and the belly growls
The sharp pangs and dull aches
Would be a totally absent torment
Without the specially created nerves

When you have toiled the whole day
The fatigue would never assault
If it wasn’t purposely created so
And you suffer the muscle ache

A bitter betrayal by a friend
Or an unfaithful lover most beloved
Would not result in a heart ache
If not for the creator

Cancer, the most painful affliction
And the anguish in treatment
Is a purposely coded torment
Naturally attributed to the creator

A tooth ache, a sensory abomination
Arthritic pain, indescribable torment
These and many other painful tortures
Were deliberately made to be felt

Whatever the pain is supposed to communicate
Surely there must be a painless alternative
Especially when the creator is said to be
A kind, warm, sympathetic spirit of love

They say you are the perfect designer
Despite our very own imperfections
Wasn’t there another way, Oh All-Knowing,
Other than pain and misery from the senses?
