Why I walk alone in the dark

As a child I had lucid dreams that could ascend past the peak of the deep black essence of the universe
Past the moon and the stars..
I would get entangled by Neptune and Pluto
Galaxies would gaze in to my light brown eyes and get lost in them
The evolution of time and space was nonexistent
Each constellation was my own celestial sphere
The world was mine and with it I had no fears..
Heaven and hell did not exist here
In that I found the meaning of love and heartbreak
To purely love and to watch the vicious take
To know our faults is only from the decision we make
As a child I knew nothing of this
I just gazed at beauty and got lost in its abyss
Oh how I miss this..
Sometimes I lay here and feel nothing at all
Slowly watching the universe fall
Knowing in the world nothing truly dies
But I will die when I can’t open my eyes
Do I dare to dream?
Just one more time
To force my mind into the sky
How I lost that feeling.
Sometimes I wonder why?

About this poem

Over the years we lose the meaning of ourselves...at night I see some version of the person I used to be.
