Thinking of You

Kassey James Hoege 1967 (Madison, Wisconsin)

The sun smiling down,
  during an afternoon walk.
  Sharing tomorrows dreams,
  or just playfully talk,

Lending my shoulder,
  to shed those painful tears.
  Your tender embrace,
  calming my darkest fears.

Someone special to hold,
  in my arms at night.
  your soothing touch,
  ending my lonely plight.

Your wonderful smile,
and that sparkle in your eye,
  Telling me it's ok,
for a grown man to cry.

You're as soft as a whisper,
and you heart's pure and true.
  These things I remember,
  when I think of you.

About this poem

I wrote this when I realized that I was alone, and my future looked bleak at best. I started thinking about what I wanted, or whom I wanted to be with. These thoughts and feelings are just about someone I hoped one day to meet.
