In The Mirror

Oh!  The future seemed so ghastly.
I didnt think about the last time he
Called out to me for attention.....
With threats and accusations.....
It was all that he mentioned.

It was time to stop up my ears!
If you dont hear the scream, do you feel the silence, the violence that surrounds you and holds you in it's  grasp - the past comes back to you so fast... ghosts to haunt you....from your past...and although you can run, you can not hide,  you can never loose the deathly white apparitions  -  suppression of sound will take you down, slipping past silence's arms, straight down into the heart of darkness...the heart beats pummels you....batters you,  bruises you....and there is nothing you can do?

We hear less and less, we see less and less...we are caught....bonded to darkness....and if we confess our sins...we can't do them again...in the world of darkness.

I feel you beside me, but you are slipping away, despite all the words I say.  As they are remembered like the different sides of the story, they are so very different views of history - a mystery you decide or refuse to believe.  I can  not conceive of your opinion.

I think,  so I can grieve of the sunlight.  For my world is one of shadows.  The sunlight blends in with the shadows...quivering...shimmering and sparkling like the stars at night,  like a vampires skin,  pale white and glistening.

You caught me in an uncomfortable position- a fascinating supernatural suprise for my eyes, when I opened them to see....like I was in front of a mirror  and what I saw was me.

I didn't have fangs and I didn't have wings...for I have no need of those things...but I am watching the walls where the shadows dance
Drifting away into a trance
And his eyes are blazing with fire....
And yet I desire him...who is locked in the cage of the past's reckoning....It is a beacon that draws him in and the rusty iron door locks him in again.  He can not break free to entertain me....his X is haunting him completely...
totally...he can not see my needs...because her misdeeds are taken out upon me.  But regardless, I look in the mirror, but I got to be me.

About this poem

Sometimes when we look we do not see. This poem is about not seeing what the reflection holds.
