Hurts

Gomathi Maruthadurai 1988 (Tamil Nadu)

When my dearest person hurts me harder
I simply make my lips wider

But my mind mends my thoughts sadder
My heart hopelessly breaks with a shudder

The pain of  heart and drain of woe
Runs around the body, finds no place to go

Finally the eyes feel pity on the heart's wear
And shed the melted heart out as tear

Tears are not just drops of salty liquid
They are the wounded parts of my heart which are not lucid.
