The Knight and The Lady

In sweet repose
I share this night
with you, my Lady,
and I, your knight.

The miles between
mean naught but time
and serve to buoy
our love sublime.

Still chaste, untouched,
my Lady, lies
and makes our love
her lullaby.

I guard my love
with fervent zeal.
Though far from her
her warmth I feel

her pulsing heart
it beats with mine.
The rush to touch
will come with time.

In my repose
you have this Knight;
in dreams so sweet
they scent the night
