Apprehension

Foothold on blind ambition,
towards some farfetched goal
I feel like a pole-vaulter
with too short a pole
Swimming upstream
tributary's unknown
I lived numerous lives
branches out have now grown
Forrest of troubled times
beyond and behind
Traveling down a road
that's still very blind
With the zest of an apple
and the tang of grapes
Forever young at heart
in a sandbox full of soul mates
Questions in an answer,
unfolded my mind
Heat and friction
from my nerves, up the spine
