A Wedge Of Sanctuary

Inland home life boring day
outside beach life lead me astray
calling southward sand on feet
temporary relief as my retreat
staring east then west coastline
resting head, problems behind
towel laid out radio turned on
sunlight eyeball friction, sunglasses drawn
characters and folks, famous spot
an occasional sailboat and a wealthy yacht
seashell examining spending time
electric treasure hunter, digs up a dime
awe of a wedge break, broken necks
barrel ride exits, powerful perplex
30 ft. swells hardening to the beach
surfers paddle direction, peaks they reach
body ocean motion, fins tightly feet
hard pounding bodies, shore breaks greet
courage entering water of salt,
own risk enter, broken bones your own fault
