Michael A. Watkins. 1965 (san diego)

It started with a smiling face
and eyes that grabbed my soul,
I knew I had to ask your name
but never have I been so bold,
I took a chance and said "Hello"
and offered you my hand,
I asked if you were free for life-
and can I be your man,
you laugh at me and looked away
but didn't let me go,
your shyness told me everything
that a Blessed man needs to know.
