Greenwood

Learning of the massacre for the first time was a stark
reminder of the horrendous consequences of white man’s actions
fueled by envy, hatred and fear of not being superior to other races.
The century coverup this atrocity speaks volumes to the evilness of the whites’
actions.
The arrest of Dick Rowland was just the premise that whites needed to kill
blacks, vandalize, loot and burn businesses and homes of blacks in Greenwood.
This needs to be taught in school so that history doesn’t repeat itself.
We always need to acknowledge the evil along with the good of mankind,
how else are we to recognize evil so as to fight it.

About this poem
