Dead Inside!!!
Saw her after many, many years!
Were her kohl eyes filled with tears?
She still looked stunning!!
However something was missing!!
She lit the room when she smiled!
The sparkle in them had dimmed!
Her smile did not reach her eyes,
Trying to hide many lies!
She still giggled girlishly,
It all seemed very guardedly!
She was not ready to mingle,
Her laughter missed the jingle!
I could feel, beyond her pretentions,
She had her own apprehensions.
A girl who was once happy-go-lucky,
Her life took a turn that was ugly.
Her heart was butchered many a times,
Of a broken soul she had all the signs.
Alas!! She was dead inside!!!
