A LOVE I ONCE KNEW

A LOVE I ONCE KNEW

I once found a love , that I thought that I had
It came in a dream , that was hopeful and glad

The feelings were found , in this dream that occurred
And I now try and place , on this page  , in a word

It showed me a hope , as I try to recall
That the love that I found , was so big and not small

These feelings were bloomed , from the flower I found
It came from heart's earth , and the fullness abound

My love was so rare , and I treat it like gold
Am I now such a fool , to become and behold ?

Do secrets that we , as the humans we are
Come now in a dream , from a vision afar?

Or is love now so real , and I've found the key
That it is a gift , from the powers that be

The lessons I learn , in the thoughts that I find
Are now in life's classroom , in the presence of mind ...

And love is a mystery , and I cannot see
For the secrets were placed , now a memory in me

It's sad to now realize , that it was a dream
And sleep is the entrance , to live love's great scheme
