Empathy
Many of us are so very vulnerable
Recoiling in ourselves and unreachable
People hardly have time for others
The helpless looks away and wonders
Abandoned, thinking in our own perspective
Never looking beyond, being introspective
Putting yourself in others shoes is difficult
To feel the same pain, is the result
To reach out to those, take the initiative
The emotions are so very primitive
It is so easy to sympathize
And very difficult to emphasize
