Stranger In The Park

I don't care about no greater good
That wishes me inside a cage
I don't care about no harmony
If all the world's a stolen stage
Someone somewhere thinks I'm somethin'
But I am not, and never was
Fallen angels scriptwriters all
Recruiters for their holy cause

I'm the sound a fish makes underwater
A shadow in the dark
The whisper that you never hear
The stranger in the park

There are needles on the riverbank
Shooter's art is on display
Tread cautious through the gallery
Snake season's on the way
The hiking trails are littered
With bulletholes in warning signs
The natives here grow razorwire
And they're drawing up the lines

I'm the sound a fish makes underwater
A shadow in the dark
The whisper that you never hear
The stranger in the park

So don't look to me for answers
Like I'm some guru in the lurch
I ain't here to fight your battles
I ain't here to join your Church
I stand alone before The Judge
As every human being must
Requiescat en pace adios
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

I'm the sound a fish makes underwater
A shadow in the dark
The whisper that you never hear
The stranger in the park
