growing pretzels

these demons are
chained
to an other
yet proclaim
freedom in you
self hating buddhists
eat pretzels
zennishly
self hating demons
in pie fights
lick each other clean
wash it down with seltzer
bottled water
fire hoses
comically but oh
they mean business
mischief and mayhem
fun is signature
victims are pretzels
to be eaten
saltless

we eat pretzels
in the presence of
strawberries
take a meat tenderizer
to the welcome mat
butcher the fatted
bead curtain
the prodigal demon
salivates

spit all your prayers
into bonfires
wishes are for fireplaces
not wells

baptism
in the pouring out
of waterfalls
communion in
the vine
beloved
you are mine
