Rain
GIDRAF MWANGI 1992 (Murang'a)
Big drop, sparse
Suspended in expanse
Looks grey, menacing dark
Glides, slides, blown by air
When it breaks, smashes
It forms numerous drops
Mopping through the sky
In a foggy rushing white
Cuts slices and minces
Slashing down the air
Whirling the dust to clouds
Smashing the hard ground
Patters on the sheets
Creaking the faulty
Slurring the windows
Into parallel lines
Temperatures drop
Rain gauges fill up
And the weather map
Hastily draws rainy!
