THE GREAT GATSBY - The Conscience
A time of summer dreams for great men with golds,
Party tricks prime and gimmicks.
Beach side passions and boats to sail
their mistresses across the ocean.
Sharp wine at the great houses,
Bickering friends with jealous eyes.
Laughs and giggles share the aisles
and secret rooms with expensive perfumes.
Secreted away with torn stockings and dirty trousers on wicked ground.
No diamond heart for the sake of love,
but a piece of the pie for charming men wears black gloves,
For an affluent wife who conquer both sides,
Vanished away from all eyes.
Some mystery invents what the law cannot unbend
Except a body wrapped found by the sea.
A western city where the evening sun ate away at the surface of the waters.
The widower gazed through an open window with a cold heart of no regret.
Fallen friends with buried secrets,
Blood cannot be wash by time
But settled in the bone of age to pour upon the passing years.
Losses, losses, pain and high doses.
Linger with big cigar upon violin strings
A cabaret song for the wailing of the mind.
And felt hat charmed sequins dress.
With every sip from the rim of a champagne glass
is the deed of tragic memories preserved by time.
taking their form upon intoxication
great houses build by great men
abandoned and forgiven.
To the house of fallen memories
dusted curtains and shattered chandeliers.
Left in the winter with wounded portraits,
Once more revisited by the heart that owns them.
broken glasses with bleeding memories,
white noises plunged a migraine scream.
Rich paintings lost its glow,
aged upon cold concrete.
memories there take the shadows upon themselves,
to hide from the eyes of the sun and the moon.
Too dark for their mortal eyes,
But the voices of great men still echoes from the past.
Whispers and wine glasses
diamonds they are,
Tossed with wicked intentions still scream
From the grave of his conscience.
vision of blood flooded the floor like a sea
and a wretched codger fell into the deep of his mind.
dirty hands with a vintage life
puffs big cigars with the séance of a lady pushed from her balcony.
Unable to wash it away.
Permanent stain of darkness stays in their greys
and stiff wrinkles.
A tragic place of the mind that age must paid for.
