Childhood, a mirage behind
A too sweet memory,
Hard to believe it happened
And yet…

One can’t help fondly reliving
The bright carefree days
Although with a share of sad
But a drop in the sea of happiness

The mind so innocent
With no hurdle to imagination
The delightful Spanish castles
Wrought in rich fantastic fabrics

The delights so many…
Almost overwhelming to behold
Every little discovery a treasure
Hoarding every trinket like gold

The emotions such odysseys
Transporting one to fantasia
Mostly a land of glee
With few quickly forgotten drizzles

The joy of learning the alphabet
With sundry lovely rhymes
Was the precursor to entry
Into the wide wondrous world of books

And growing up!
