The pearl of thunder

GIDRAF MWANGI 1992 (Murang'a)

It crashes and smashes
Preceded by violent flashes

It rumbles and grumbles
Renting the silence asunder

It scares and cowers the weak
Knocking the knees to jelly

It sounds like a celestial drum
The precursor to the Armageddon!

It spells the death knell
To sundry mighty boles

It startles the fleeting dear
Caught in a mid-jump prance

It throws the heavens in relief
Illumining the grim cloud pillars

It nevertheless enthralls all
With its shiny bolt pearls!
