Teenage on the crossroads

Here I stand, in the midst of nowhere
With a worn heart.
Ripped because of love
Or is it a thirst to fit into society
A society filled with teenage couples
Will I survive, or will I die
It’s up to the mind.

A mind shredded by day to day activities
The hustling and bustling
Up and down, to and fro
A poor mind,
Burdened by endless assignments
Is it for me to bear or shall I die.

Tiktok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook,
It’s all the talk of the day
But me?
I am confined with my antiquated soul
Ignorant about recent trends,
Fascinated by the future
Stripped of teenage vibes,
Confined in a jar, full of peer pressure
Shall I catch up, or will I be doomed?
NO!

It is for my own good
Lagging behind in recent trends,
But preparing for a bright future.
A future based on an educational
Foundation, patience and independence
