Web of Loneliness and The Spider's Lament

Shiny,silky strands
Glistening silver white
Caught my attention
You drew me in and I was yours
Ensnared in a dreamlike trance
You spun so gracefully and masterfully
With beauty and confidence
Until I was completely locked in your web
No matter how hard I fought
I pushed, pulled kicked and fought with all my might
But I could not break free
And as I resigned myself to this truth, I was happy
For I had found my place in your world
Locked in your embrace until I died...

But that was long ago.
And you have lost interest in me
The shine has faded and the silver white strands are now loose and gray
They have become frayed and tattered and show their age
So you moved on
Spinning new more beautiful rings of silky shiny silver white strands
Not quite out of sight
But well beyond my reach

Though, I could probably break free
For my ties are now so old and weak

I know I could break free
If I pushed and pulled, twisted and tore myself away
I could get out of this web and break your trance over me

For now I can not stand this place,
Caught somewhere between life and death.
I must escape your web

Perhaps I will try tomorrow..

The Spider's Lament

Where have you gone?
My lovely delicious prey
I spun my finest for you
I danced and worked meticulously to draw you in
And you came!
And I ensnared you!
Oh you put up such a fight.
So I wrapped you up tightly and spun my silky strands for you
Oh that was so long ago
And now you have stopped.
I thought you were dead
You quit fighting, struggling, pushing and pulling
Have I lost you?
I see you,
Yet I feel that you are already gone.
You have lost interest in me
So, I tried to get your attention
Spinning new more intricate and beautiful strands
Tightly wound rings that glisten in the sunlight of day and hold firm against the dew of a chilly spring morning

But still no reaction from you...

Do Something! Please!

Pull
Fight
Kick
Scream
