Analysis of Horror Poetry Set #005

ABOMINATIONS CLOSING
Frantic feet kicking
Out at abominations,
Closing for the kill.

THE AGONY OF DREAMS
The agony of dreams
Permeates your restless night;
Nightmares seem so real.

ALL HALLOWS EVE (I)
On All Hallows Eve
When goodness goes to sleep,
Great evil surely wakes.

ALL MANNER OF EVIL
All manner of evil
Flitting through the dark night,
Hunting human food.

ALPS (19/03/2009)
Surrender yourself
To death’s sudden icy grip,
Lost out in the Alps.

AMBER-TINTED DUSK
Amber-tinted dusk
Foreteller of warmth?  Or cold,
Dank things lurking near?

ANCIENT BEINGS (I)
Ancient beings from
Some twilight world: forgotten
But very far from gone.

ANCIENT MOUNTAIN PEAKS
Ancient mountains rise
Towering black, snow-capped peaks,
Tall and menacing
.
ANGRY GOD (II)
Angry God raging
Thinning out the human herd;
Chaos now, not miracles.

THE ANTITHESIS
Daughter of Satan
No Damian here!  Yet she’s
The Antithesis.

THE APPROACH (21/03/2009)
Evil all around
Prowling midnight alleyways,
Death approaching fast.

AQUEOUS (II)
Aquatic horror
With extended, shark-like teeth.
Meant for rending flesh.

ARMAGEDDON
Now Armageddon:
The human race is dying,
All their sins are paid.

THE AROMA OF DEATH
Within the dark woods
A lunatic lurks, bearing
The aroma of death.

ATMOSPHERE HEAVY WITH FEAR
Souls in depression
Atmosphere heavy with fear,
Fearful thoughts torment.

AN ATMOSPHERE LADEN WITH TENSION
Tension in the air;
Mournful, howling, Banshee winds;
Evil on the breeze.

AWFUL (21/03/2009)
Blind terror grips you
Atmosphere heavy with fear,
Something awful nears.

THE AWFUL NIGHT (21/03/2009)
Cries of fear unfold
Agony of sudden death,
Haunts this awful night.

BAD DREAMS APPEAR
Wicker basket filled
With nightmares; bad dreams appear
And walk through the night.

BANSHEE WINDS
Mournful banshee winds
Howling with distress for,
Souls lost in a storm.

BANSHEE WINDS SHRIEK (20/05/2010)
Banshee winds shrieking
Down from the tormenting sky,
The chill of death nears.

Beast child born of hate
Raised in a house of terror,
Evil bred within.

A BEAUTIFUL GHOST
A beautiful ghost
Glowing, gliding, flowing,
Electric blue aura.

BESTIAL FACES
Bestial faces
Hatred burns in pig-like eyes,
Watching from nearby.

THE BEST OF FRIENDS
Boa constrictors
Embracing you as though you’re,
All the best of friends.

BLACK MAGIC CIRCLES
Black magic circles
Where Satanic disciples,
Conjure up demons.

A BLACK OBELISK
A black obelisk
Marked with weird hieroglyphs,
A tribute to evil.

BLACKOUTS
After strange blackouts
You wake to find evil,
Done by your own hands.

BLACK VELVET
Eerie, moonless night
Blacker than blackest velvet,
Sets your nerves on edge.

A blinding hailstorm
Hiding death from travellers,
Great danger lurking.

A BLINDING THUNDERSTORM
Blinding thunderstorms
Raging outside at night,
Bring a flood of terror.

THE BLOOD FEAST
A blood feast practised:
An unholy ritual:
Raising of the dead!

A BLOOD OATH
A blood oath written
In the dead of night, on
A parchment, in red.

A BLOOD OATH SWORN
A blood oath sworn by
Tall, dark-hooded figures,
In the small of night.

A BLOOD-STAINED KNIFE
A blood-stained knife
Wielded in burning anger,
Striking again and again.

THE BOOK OF THE DEAD (II)
Evil words written
On a parchment of tanned flesh,
Using blood for ink.

BREAKING POINT
There’s a point when evil
Seems the only path left;
Nothing pure survives.

BREATH OF THE STORM
The breath of a storm:
Like anguished screams of the damned,
All your nerve ends raw.

BURNING (15/03/2009)
Dark evil burning
Down toward unwary prey,
Night horrors descend.

THE BURROWERS BENEATH
Deep in the earth
Lovecraftean horrors: the
Burrowers beneath.

CAPERING FIGURES (I)
With evil intent
Horrid, capering figures,
Creeping up on you.

CAPTURED SOULS (15/03/2009)
Captured souls writhing
Tormented by dark horrors,
Night fiends are at play.

CARNIVORES APPROACH
Sounds of a leopard
Sounds of a lion, or bear,
Carnivores approach.

CATASTROPHE
Elder gods fighting
In faraway Valhalla,
Brings catastrophe.

CAVALRY OF THE CLOUDS
Phantom horsemen ride
’Cross the sky on snow-white steeds,
Warring ’bove the clouds.

CHAMBER OF HORRORS (I)
Eerie creaking chains
Moaning cries are heard within,
A crumbling old house.
