Analysis of Words I Write for You
Ron VanHooser 1956 (Franklin County, MO)
Golden rays melt to flowing red,
the stillness of the night ahead.
Sitting by my lonesome self
taking memories off the shelf.
My fingers start to write
in the quiet of the night.
My words are from my heart
so that is where I'll start.
Place your hand in mine,
walk with me through time.
My words are yours to keep
close beside you while you sleep.
Each night a poem of love I write
with feathered quill in black and white.
My heart to you only I bare,
with words of love, and how much I care.
Writing in the hush of night,
waiting for dawn’s coming light.
It's a quarter of three
and as always, there's only me.
