Analysis of That Morning At The Cemetery
That morning gazing at a tombstone that read
Here lies Mary and she can never be dead
I turned my head to hide my smile
Got a glimpse of you from a mile
I paid my respect, walked away
Drawn in the direction where you lay
You looked up and said hey you alas
I stared down at you sprawled on the grass
You said mind sitting down a bit
With your eyes and face brightly lit
Was it the morning sun glistening over you
Or my lonely heart saying yes that’s your cue
I hesitated but nodded yes
Inside I felt I am truly blessed
Two living souls amongst the dead
This is where life started, the one we lead
That was love at first sight
You for me and me for you that night
From that day on and to date
We have been writing the others fate
You were always a step ahead of me
In the good, bad and however ugly it be
Leading in love, ending the fights
Romancing the I love you nights
It is sad how we ended it all
The finger pointing game, as I recall
Hid our feelings so we didn’t hurt
Little by little our hearts did spurt
Time moved on and so did we
But you kept living inside of me
I followed you around as long as I could
The closer I got, the further away you looked
Little did I know your reasoning behind
You had never let me read your mind
In health and sickness we were to be
But you grew selfish and left behind me
Now standing there where first we met, I write
Susan is not dead but lives shinning bright
I walked towards the grounds we laid
One last glimpse, I tearfully prayed
Just to tell you that I am fine
Following you till the end of time
To the heaven above where sky stays blue
Where ever you go, I go with you
