Analysis of Vines

Roberto Suarez Torres 1983 (New York)

Alone, all together
thick leaves like opaque skin,
naked, climbing mountains
rashly. Wobbly shackles;
minds untie amid limbs…
Outrage! Shadows rescue
burly gushing barrels.

Weaving sashay clappers
drizzly, nuzzle spellbound
throbbing necks, where billows:
gaudy blissful berries,
garland serpents handy,
swelling, thrashing, rising.

Chosen, kindle wholly
luster morning convenes.
Rapture frightens anguish,
dropping musty pieces.
Open, purging, breathing.
Witness graceful presents…
Alone, all together.
