Analysis of Value That Is There

If you're busy changing the one you claim to love
you could miss the plaintive coo of the Mourning Dove.
If you're seeking elsewhere your dream to satisfy
you could miss the chatter drone of the bright Magpie.
If you're branding cattle in any foreign herd
you could miss the quaver trill of the small Bluebird.
If you're chasing rainbows your ambition to fill
you could miss the nighttime song of the Whippoorwill.
If you're wooing strangers to meet a needy plight
you could miss the naming call of the game Bobwhite.
If you're donning false airs your ego to enthrall
you could miss the brilliant voice of the Cardinal.
If you're dodging ethics of the straight and narrow
you could miss the frisky chirp of the Tree Sparrow.
If you're failing to see the value that is there
you could miss the sodden beep of the seabird Murre.
