Analysis of Under A Big Gallows Tree

Under a Magnolia Tree
sits a Titmouse Chickadee
warbling tunes of victory
with a novel liberty
revealing she's always free.

Under a Banana Tree
sits a daft Cuckoo Birdie
howling tunes of sanity
yet batty in the belfry
revealing he's reason free.

Under a Coconut Tree
sits a New Zealand Kiwi
chirping tunes of booboisie
as a flightless mystery
revealing how to walk free.

Under an Umbrella Tree
sits an elderly Banshee
wailing tunes of prophecy
in an old cemetery
revealing whom next to free.

Under a big Gallows Tree
sits a Jailbird arrestee
crooning tunes of misery
to the inmate coterie
revealing he can't go free.
