Analysis of The Fear of the Storm

Lights strike outside, illuminating my lids
Thunder booms, setting off the sound of little feet by kids
"Mommy Daddy!! Thunder and lightning!"
"Calm down kids, it's not so frightening"
Trying to soothe them in this nighttime storm
Wrapping them in sheets, keeping them warm
To me, sleep was all that was desired
But a calm tone was upmost required
"Think of the lightning as the blinks of your fireflies,
and the rain? Your favorite lullabies.."
a nod of the head,
a tiny yawn,
asleep
