Analysis of Seashore Enchantment
Love sitting by the seashore gazing out
at such exotic fold, enchanting view.
Out on the silent sea, ship wrapped about
in blue of evening riding waves in hue.
The little fish leap, sea gulls dip and dart,
excited, follow, whirlpools then appear.
Dark, smooth rocks split the laughing waves apart;
on one a sea gull lands and cries in fear.
The waves, a sedative for sleep tonight,
have put the sun to sleep behind the clouds.
A lantern on a pier draws moths in flight
and casts its eerie light on sailboat shrouds.
Now shivering from ocean wind and spray,
too cold for this, the second day of May.
