Analysis of Santa Clara Rasul Gamzatov

Santa Clara
Till the morning I wander on parkway,
All I will not see enough of Santa Clara.
Perhaps it from ancient legend -
This city with a tender name?

All are repeated by me gently: Santa Clara.
And to call with the hope: Santa Clara.
And I whisper sadly: Santa Clara.
And I stand in a mute: Santa Clara.

Who has constructed in the honour of `im darling
The city of the beauty un-repeted?
Who has presented to `im bride
This city-fairy tale, city-song?

I hear, the guitar in the distance sounds.
I to you admit, Santa Clara:
My life is fine and rich
By the names that for the heart is sacred.

This is mother - you hear, Santa Clara.
This is the daughter - o, more silently, Santa Clara.
And my sister in an old aul.
And my wife, ah, Santa Clara!

I was able if to create a miracle -
The cities I would built everywhere.
The cities behind the rivers, the mountains
By the darlings names I would names.

If each city is married
With a name of the finest of a women,
A people could sleep then quietly
And an enmity and a wars would disappears.

All then were repeated hourly
The names of a fine their girlfriends -
The same as in a calm of your parkways
Till the morning I repeat: Santa Clara...
