Analysis of Pruning

There comes a time to prune bushes and trees
of root sapping branches, infectious disease.

A cancerous manner breaking an oath;
some call it "growing" when it's really "a growth."

Divergent paths lead to drifting apart;
no accusations, only cause to depart.

The deepest commitments should not erode
philosophies and values of different code.

A point is reached when we must close the door:
preventing abuse, exploitation and gore.

Peace offerings rejected, just let it go;
attempting to "fix it" gives nothing to show.

Hit the ground running and never looking back;
pick-up the suitcases and do not unpack.

Collapsing dreams without structural base:
a reality wake-up soon will erase.

A long history shared, now left with goodbye;
ambivalent heart tugs, move on with a sigh.

There comes a time to prune the trees of life
of sapping relationships, conflict and strife.
