Analysis of Out of the Night

Out of the Night
Oh, what mystical magic hides within the woods
 from cracking of timber
and the mysteries concealed behind the bark?

Where fairies and elves live in obscurity within the green belt
in a tilting of seasons that brings blossoms to bloom
 while on fresh butterfly trails
 their dreams of strange
 forever rejoicing in nature's beauty
 on the winds of transformation.

Below a polka dot sky
where each star brands a light hidden in heavens haze
which cast their world from darkness
to a brilliant forest of sea green.

As the fireflies brighten the eve
in passions of flickering within the emerald pines
where elves dance to the fiddler's highland jig
in the festive feast of the night.

While the fairies spill their magic dust upon the air
bonding all living things within the mystical forest
under a numinous spell of elves.

As a new dawn awakes from the night of enchantment
where fairies and elves come together in flowering love
creating a new generation of God's children
 known now as the hobbits
 bringing siblings of change
descending into the evolution of man.

Norman Wilson

IntroductionForgotten are the times the tick of a clock once chimed sobering sounds that caressed my hearts nightly dreams. As I awaken to the touch of light that burns upon a candles wick flickering my words for all to see. This drives my thoughts through the darkest of nights of loneliness that renders my quill upon parchment with ink that dances to minds and souls. Now I hear the screeching of my heart when the blue horizon covers the orb of emptiness.Within the shelter of my mind with little, purpose other than my words that keep me sane. These are my new poems I have written in the quiet of my night, forever wished away in a writer’s pain. As I strive to write that perfect poem that, my soul desperately seeks. Then and only then can my words rest upon a sleep. more…
