Analysis of Ode to my Sister Cathy (Poem #722)

My little sister so cute and sweet
We have so much fun together
 Doing things week after week

She is the kindest person I know
It's not her smile that beguiles
 But the kindnesses she shows

She is so independent and strong
Will do anything she can herself
To help her living alone get along

She's had many blessings in life
Which God has provided with love
Amidst the living provided by strife

A Christian in heart and her soul
 Her actions show it striving
To be like Jesus makes her whole

Her children mean the very most
 Mark, Darin and Wendy Jean's
Name honored me, here I can boast

Along came her granddaughter Nicole
So wonderful a blessing she is
 Making her family now whole

You will often find her being busy
 Doing so many neighborly things
 She often drives me dizzy

If I so much as break a toenail
I know that she will always be there
I don't have to give out a single wail

Today I am honored to share
 Her birthday with lunch
Ribs are a favorite if we dare

This ode could go on all day
But its time for a Happy Birthday
And a hug and a kiss going her way

So Cathy may you have a wonderful
 Happy Birthday and next year
Have many more blessing to full fill
