Analysis of ninety and running. {song}
so old and filled with all the years
of forgotten nights alone with fears
you'd run away, but can't feel your feet
stuck in the wheelchair and incomplete
your life is drawing to an end
as you lay, and wait for death to descend
darkness is freedom, while your heart is a cage
of suffering and sadness and undying rage
chorus:
{you're ninety and running as fast as you can
if death shall approach, will you be a man?
you're ninety and running from all the pain
the soreness of life is a permanent stainyou're ninety and running and lost all control
the wonder age has ravaged your soul
you're ninety and running and your life is a mess
with nothing to lose if nothing is less}
do you choose to close your eyes today?
leave behind to the body's decay
to live is to suffer with pain in your eye
to die is to stop that question of "why?"
everyone 'round you weeps and moans
the morphine drop is a silent drone
away the black holes in your head
you start to realize you'd rather be dead
you plead with the doctors to take your life
you try to lunge on the sterilized knife
you forgot your past because your memory's gone
waiting for death is all you can bet on
