Analysis of Lost Moments

Time is a curious complicated friend,
It fleets; it flees, but will never end.
With great potential, it is easily squandered
And through its' hours I've helplessly wondered.

Today, a special moment eluded.
It's fate, its destiny, its doom, I concluded
Desire and promise again is suppressed
Conquered, subdued, I'm totally distressed.

The minutes come. The hours go
And thoughts of love, both ebb and flow.
When is it my turn? What is the matter?
I have none to court and no one to flatter.

Another day has found the crapper
And left me trampled and much less dapper.
Another day of lost potential
No aspirations have proved essential.

Hopes and dreams cast asunder
Traded for boredom, the bus threw under.
Nowhere to go, nowhere to be
No place to visit, no one to see.

Alone with my thoughts and my many wishes,
Another day ends, in a sink full of dishes.
And once again, as often I see
Many lost moments, reflect history.
