Analysis of I'm Right Here Pt. 3
This isn't really a poem, more of a short story.
The detectives asked my parents to get them some coffee, so both of my parents are in the kitchen. Valentina is still looking for Ashleigh's address, so the detectives are alone in the living room with me, only they don't know I'm here. I'm eavesdropping on their conversation. I over here Detective Brooke say "do you think she just ran away?" Detective Moore replied "it's a possibility." How can they not know I'm sitting right across the room. I get up to go to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and I'm glowing. My skin is so light, it's almost mesh.
The detectives went into the kitchen to see if the coffee was ready. I don't want to hear anymore of this, so I wait until my parents and the detectives are done talking to go into the kitchen.
7 minutes go by and Valentina walks downstairs with Ashleigh's address. "Thanks for your cooperation, we will keep you informed and let you know when we find your daughter. Try to enjoy the rest of your day and don't stress too much." said Detective Moore. The detectives leave and I decide to follow them. Instead of opening the car door, I just walk right into the car. I walk right into the car. I'm still so confused with what's going on right now.
We pull up to Ashleigh's house and the detective knocks on the door. Her dad answered. "Hello, we are detectives. May we come in?"
"Um, sure." Mr. Harlem replied.
"Is your daughter, Ashleigh, home?"
"Yes she is. Ashleigh!" he calls up the stairs.
She comes down the stairs with a scared look on her face. "Dad, what's going on?"
"I don't know, honey. Just answer all their questions truthfully."
They asked Ashleigh if I was supposed to be meeting her last night. At first, she wouldn't answer any of the questions. But, then her dad said that she needed to tell the truth or she wouldn't be allowed to hang out with me anymore. So she told them she hadn't heard from me since yesterday at school. They asked her about my other friends or if I have a boyfriend. She told them about Justin and where he lived.
