Analysis of I Saw A Soldier Just Today
I saw a soldier just today
Though he wasn't standing tall
He was resting in a fancy box
For this soldier gave his all
Other soldiers bore him home
To his final resting place
They proudly marched side by side
Though they'd never seen his face
His box was draped with our country's flag
For proudly had he served
These honors were bestowed with love
It was all that he deserved
His family stood with tear filled eyes
His strength came from their heart
Though saddened, they were filled with pride
He had bravely done his part
I saw a soldier just today
As I was passing by
I had to stop and dry my tears
Then go and say goodbye.
