Analysis of I Remember Well
Remember well the house where dad as born,
Was years ago but seems like yesterday;
The sun peeked in his window every morn
And moonbeams on his counterpane would play.
Remember trellised roses, red and white,
Below his windowsill where robin built
A nest that overlooked the garden site
Of lilacs, lilies with their blooms atilt.
Remember well the elm that held his swing
On which his spirit flew but missing now
But then would rush as swallows on the wing
While cooling summer air swept cross his brow.
I'll learn much more about his youthful joy
When I reach heaven; know him as a boy.
