Analysis of Growing Old
Daily vitamins, popped with care,
A chest pain that causes a scare,
Receding hair lines, not to mention the gums,
Getting tummy aches and popping the Tums,
An achy back, after just a little work,
A kink in the neck, from a sudden jerk,
Prune juice gulped with much disdain,
Getting a new friend, the walking cane,
A cold now hits with such great force,
You'd swear you'd just been kicked by a horse,
Routine visits to the doctor are now the norm,
Be it in fair weather or a raging storm,
Yes, growing old is certainly not fun,
When you start to see the fading sun,
But, even with all the aches and pains, that
you'd love to put asunder,
Well, I'm guessin' it surely does beat being
six feet under!
