Analysis of First kiss on hold

I remember when I almost had my very first kiss
Thinking about it just fills me with such bliss

I was thirteen and in the eight grade
Oh how I thought wow today is the day

I put on my lips gloss that tasted so sweet
Wow I thought to myself he is in for a treat

But I was real naieve and really wasn't ready
To go out with boys kiss or go steady

So back to wearing jeans and a sweatshirt and a braid
Because after I thought about the consequences I became afraid

Young and naieve I was at that time you see
So I decided it was better to be a little longer young and free
