Analysis of drift n stay

Anny McNeilus 1982 (Minnesota)

Remember the transformation witnessed outside my window...?
Remember never wanting to let go..?

Remember birds chirping and orange lillies, so bright?
Everything seemed to fall just right...

Time passed, trials were overcome-
Hearts, once so guarded, began so open up some...

Remember the river, each time that we went?
So joyful were the times that we spent...

Having faith that so many more times were to come...
Now heavy and aching, I wish to be numb.

Not regretting the times you have shared with me..
Only wishing you trust what can be..
