Analysis of Deep Sleep

Dead Sleep
In the passing of night
She slept away in the dark
Slumbered in the storms eye
Resting within each breath

Harkened by a sharp noise
Rising from her own death
Beyond the world of kind
Left smothered in her sweat

A glimpse of a wrinkled braw
And a scar upon her cheek
Purged thin porous skin
and fiery devilish eyes
all was her mystique

From the bedrock beneath her feet
To a coloured blue moon
A howling sounds out
For her to loom

Born from desert sands
And old cattle bones
Summoned by the natives
To cleanse their souls

They dance upon fires
Chanting to the Gods
Hungered in vengeance
against white men

They rode into Little Big Horn
With the She Devil in there mist
She breathed upon Custer
Given to a death kiss

She is now gone forever
Back into death's sleep
Waiting once more
To be summoned by the CHIEF

Norman Wilson

IntroductionForgotten are the times the tick of a clock once chimed sobering sounds that caressed my hearts nightly dreams. As I awaken to the touch of light that burns upon a candles wick flickering my words for all to see. This drives my thoughts through the darkest of nights of loneliness that renders my quill upon parchment with ink that dances to minds and souls. Now I hear the screeching of my heart when the blue horizon covers the orb of emptiness.Within the shelter of my mind with little, purpose other than my words that keep me sane. These are my new poems I have written in the quiet of my night, forever wished away in a writer’s pain. As I strive to write that perfect poem that, my soul desperately seeks. Then and only then can my words rest upon a sleep. more…
