Analysis of Blood on the streets

Mangled bodies lie strewn around
Mongrels howl
A mother cradles
Her limp two-month old.

Cameras click
With furious pace
As the ambulance
Picks up the human remains.

Not far away
A grim-faced prime minister
Declares war on terrorism
Pledges peace.

A little boy runs
In the neighbourhood
Staring skywards
To monitor his kite.

The Himalayas stare down
From their icy heights
Frozen for eternity
Amid the violence.
