Analysis of because poor wished for longer summers

One day I was in conversation with my dad.
He was bent on teaching and preaching his lad.
It was a shivering winter day without any shades of sun.
I was firing question after question.

I asked, dad why can't we have a full year of winter and snow?
There will be no sweat, no fatigue only cool winds will blow.
There will be joy in eating and we will have a joyous warm sleep.
What a fun it will be to enjoy hot cups of soups and coffee sip by sip,
There will be more of rest and less of activities.
There will be less of boredom and more of festivity.

My dad was smiling at my foolishness filled innocence.
But the father inside him forces him to set right my nonsense.
He said, my son god never does anything wrong.
And he explained why winters are shorter and summers are long.

He said, God has a special corner for poor and in his heart.
He knows there problems will begin as soon as winter starts.
I asked how you can say that dad.
But his answers made me depressed and sad.

He said the poor asked for longer summers because they sleep on streets.
They don't have comfortable mattresses and blankets to provide them heat.
He said the poor asked for longer summers because he has no clothes covering.
He doesn't have woolen clothes and trendy jackets to control his shivering.
He said the poor asked for longer summers because in winter you will need more food.
He can live on water which people give without being rude.

His answers hit my soul like a sledge hammer.
From that day I started to pray for longer summers.
