Analysis of Aspiring

What lofty mountain lies ahead?
A spiraling mass against a sky of limitless endeavor
None but the brave its peak to tread,
Poised placidly atop in splendor.
Give me unfettered friend of mind
A will to attain the hight with positive persistence,
That I may soar again, and find
The summit without resistence.
And at the top of all ambition.
A time to look and see,
Not stopping with success a reason,
A master I, of inhibition
Can fly to greater, broad horizons.

Barbara Cadogan

I am a Registered Nurse, and first started to write poetry when I was about 18 years old. I have written several poems on a variety of subjects, and enjoy poems that are light and filled with humor. I feel that a good poem like a painting, is able to evoke a variety of emotions, whether sad or cheerful, angry or sympathetic. My goal in life is to learn as much as I can, and to spread peace and good cheer to many. Above all, to be respectful and helpful to my fellow man. more…
