Analysis of Time In a Mirror
Nathaniel Hackey 1983 (Madrid)
A waltz...
My eyes dance as they stare
Every morning and every night
I stand in front of that mirror
Counting seconds
To add hours
Watching the days pass by
Only growing older
Unable to break this glass of time
When will the pain reflect in my tears?
For the glass only sees what I allow
But it can't see me screaming
Yelling...pleading for help
Or is it the past that is hidden?
Covered by all the sand of time
Soon too deep to reveal, but it's
Time in a mirror
To remind me that I'm still alive

About this poem
Watching time pass, just by seeing the reflections change in the mirror, is a scary way to live.
