Analysis of "I Am Of The Rose"

I used to be a seed in the dirt,
Too easily broken down and hurt,
It took me years to come around,
My long stem waiting to be above ground,
My leaves on the sides of the stem you oppose,
Just like you do with the thorns of a Rose,

A Rose's thorns are meant for protection,
From meaningless heartache and refused affection,
For those who are said to be different from us,
The sharp poke of the thorn leaves an infectious puss, That leaks out from the wound at which it has penetrated,
To keep it protected from being hated,

I am of the Rose because of its thorns,
That when someone attacks me, I will show my horns,
The devil in me is quite your own reflection,
That curses you who lives by deception,
The Rose has its truth like the way I choose to live by,
To live with an open mind that can reach to the sky,

I have my own strength because of this flower,
Whose representation has been spoken of this hour,
The Rose is a flower that has many meanings,
Just like the description of anyone's dreaming,
If you want to push me to the point where I do not care, Then pick up a Rose by its sharp thorns that shall leave you in despair.

Let this be a reminder of with whom you are dealing,
For messing with me just might leave you reeling,
In pain that is more powerful than any other you have ever felt,
The prick from a Rose's thorn will leave you with a cut soon to swell,
I might not seem that strong to you,
But believe me, I will show you the truth.
