Analysis of Invisible

I see you through the painted face.
I see the you that you want to hide.

I've always seen you in my mind.
I see you each time I close my eyes.

That day we met, in that dreadful place,
It's been yours on each new lover's face.

The things I've said and feelings I've forced,
with the ones I've had since, and even before.

They had no clue, knew not their place.
But I knew you, they'd not replace.

Kept apart by circumstance.
Begged false gods for just a chance.

As if a game of kings or gods,
pleas were answered with a catch.

Years and years and lovers passed,
the broken hearts left in your wake.

I hear their laughter as my hopes wane,
for you'd been broken, and I too late.

I begged and pleaded to no avail,
but your pieces too many and your heart too frail.

Blinded by a poisoned love,
left in pain too many times.

My love does hold, but my soul, it aches,
I feel to blame for trusting fate.

My love, my heart, and all I could give,
to you, is now invisible…

But I stil see you…
