Analysis of You know

Akshada Choudhary 2004 (Madhya Pradesh)

To the kid who knows
How to piss me off the best
You know
You still are my fondest

Those stupid fights
Yo
My favourite pass time
Cherry on the cake
Those pointless arguments for God's sake

Divided by remote
United by hotspot
We laugh, we cry
Yet you fail to recall the value of pi
You know
You still are my coziest

You're mischievous, you're annoying
Always late
You're adopted
What?
That's a cap for sure!

You're loving, you're caring
You may have an antidote
Which i was seeking for
And what can I expect more!

We share a special bond
More precious than gold
That diminishes never
Grows stronger and fonder
Forever

About this poem

This poem is written by me for my younger brother on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Raksha Bandhan, a Hindu festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. During the festival, sisters tie a rakhi (a sacred amulet) around their brother’s wrist to symbolise the brother’s promise of care and protection of their sister.
