Analysis of "Their Panacea Of Gun"

They want 'peace'.
Of enduring or inducing?
What peace is associated with gun?
He came for peace.
He is in possession of his gun.
He fires with no restraint.
Like a clattering thunder,
He spits embers at the very hearts of stones,
Awakening the long-slumbered.
In a bid to extinguish the blazing flame,
A blazing monster erupts,
Defying every nature of the ordinary;
A monster demanding beyond what
The gun cannot offer,
Albeit all offers made to alter
The ultimate demand for mankind.
This monster goes beyond the natural capacity
To endure pain and agony.
Indeed, a monster!

About this poem

The poem "Their Panacea Of Gun" is an attempt to paint a futile picture of political situations of some African states that find themselves in such a socio-political mess which requires a dialogue approach to remedy the situations. Unfortunately, African leaders keep missing the mark. Being bereaved of fruitful ideas, and blindfolded by avarice, they resort to military, forceful and intimidating approaches in solving problems of tribal and religious undertone rather than dialogue.
